Twin siblings Kyle and Kelly Brightwater arrive at Kachina Academy knowing almost nothing about what they are. Something has always set them apart.  They're only beginning to understand what that means — and what it will demand of them.

Four students. Four abilities. One ancient warning.

Kyle, Kelly, Isabella Greenhill, and Alejandro Núñez are Atlantean descendants — bound by destiny and completely unprepared for what that means. As they find their footing at Kachina Academy and something extraordinary stirs in each of them, a darker education is already underway. Isabella has been drawn into the orbit of Bart Malevole — charming, attentive, and connected to a family name that makes the elders fall silent. He sees her potential in ways no one else does. What  she doesn't yet understand is what that attention costs.

Beneath  the desert skies of Arizona, and deep in the trembling mountains of the  Andes, the four find each other — and to understand what they are. The last line between a world that doesn't know it's threatened and forces  that have been waiting for exactly this alignment of stars.

But prophecy doesn't promise survival. It only promises the threshold.
